(We know – this section is supposed to be all about us – but nothing sums us up more than our devotion to the highest possible standards of butchery and farm fresh meat.)
It’s that devotion that has sustained our once small family business and seen it grow into one of the leading suppliers of fresh meat online in the UK. But no matter how big our reputation gets; no matter how big our customer base gets, we’re still a family business at heart. From our beginnings in a single shop in Cheltenham in 1980 through our expansion into Worcester, Pershore and Evesham, (and now online), our business has stayed true to its roots – and its core values. We still insist on giving our customers the very best of British fresh farm meat. We still pride ourselves on our attention to HACCP standards of hygiene. (We recently received four stars for our exceptional commitment to food hygiene in the national Scores On The Doors scheme.)
Oh, and we’re still a genuine family business. Only that family has grown a bit…
Nowadays Dad (Mr. Barry Lusted) is joined by son Darren and daughter Clare in taking the business forwards. Together, the Clare Barry team is committed to providing more of the same great service, more of the same exceptional quality – and more of the finest, fresh farm meat to even more customers.

1980
Mr Lusted opens our very first shop dedicated to sourcing and selling the finest quality fresh meat and poultry to lucky customers in Cheltenham!
1985
Buoyed by our success in Cheltenham, we expand into Worcester.
1987
With the Lusted name becoming synonymous with outstanding standards in butchery; it’s no surprise that Mr Lusted is poached by a major retailer to manage their butchery franchises in local supermarkets.
This doesn’t come at the expense of the family business though – there’s still time to take on even more new premises (in Wyre Piddle) which are used as factory unit and retail outlet.
1989-1999
Never content to rest on our laurels, we take our farm British meat to the British people! Employing even more staff, more equipment and our own fleet of lorries, we enjoy a successful decade as fresh meat auctioneers, appearing all over the country.
2000
Back to basics! With Darren coming into the business full time, we go back to our core values. The retail side is revamped and rebranded.
We are honoured to receive a certificate of achievement for twenty years continuous growth and customer satisfaction.
2007
With Clare coming on board, the team is complete.

Phew! After all of that activity, the future looks set to be even busier. Our Clare Barry fresh meat and poultry website is up and running. Calls and emails are coming in every day and we’ve got a bright future to look forward to.
