1. Where does my meat come from?

This is what most of you want to know. And this is what sets us apart. Clare Barry only supplies the tenderest, tastiest, healthiest and most carefully selected British cuts of fresh farm meat. 2. Okay, that sounds great – but can’t I just buy my fresh meats from the supermarket?

Buying fresh meats from a supermarket is easy. Right? All you have to do is get in your car, fight the queues, hope you can find exactly the cut of fresh beef you want, or the best value selections of fresh meat and poultry; then pay, pack and get it all home before it starts to thaw. Then when you get home, you’ll probably have to open it up and pack it into smaller portions for freezing. Hmm, maybe not so easy after all…

Buying fresh meat online really is easy. We recommend a nice drink, a comfortable chair and ten minutes of your time to browse through our incomparable selection of the tenderest fresh beef, the sweetest fresh lamb and the most succulent fresh pork and poultry. 3. Okay, it really does sound good – but I’m not completely convinced! Surely I can buy premium quality fresh farm meat in the supermarkets too?

In twenty five years of selling fresh farm meat direct and online, we’ve learned that taste is everything! That’s why we’re happy to issue this challenge: buy your fresh beef, fresh lamb or fresh pork from your local supermarket. Is it British meat? Is it farm fresh meat? Most importantly, is it the best you’ve ever tasted?

If the answer to even one of these questions is “no” you have to try us. Compare us for price, convenience, quality, service and taste. Then you’ll have your answer!

4. But isn’t buying fresh meat online more expensive?

No. Our reputation is based on three things: quality, service and price. Remember, we deal direct with British farmers. No middlemen. And with no hidden extras to jack up the price, you get a lot more premium quality fresh meat for your money.

5. Who will be delivering my meat?

Your order will be delivered by either of our couriers, ANC or City Link on our standard “Next Day by 5.30pm” service - unless otherwise stated in the payment process. For further information on delivery please refer to our delivery page.

6. How will my order be packed?

Your meat order will be vacuum sealed and professionally packed in a highly insulated box containing sorba-freeze refrigerant pads. Once packed, your order will be securely fastened and will be security strapped for your peace of mind.

7. My vacuum sealed meat doesn't look or smell right. Is my meat off?

Don’t worry. Your meat order is perfect. All online meat products have been vacuum sealed for optimum hygiene and freshness. This method of packaging may result in the meat darkening in colour; it might also temporarily alter the smell of the meat. This is completely normal. When the meat is opened and exposed to the air again it will regain its natural bloom.

As well as being hygienic, the vacuum-sealed packs are great for putting in the freezer – they take up far less room than the usual plastic food trays. 

8. How is my meat kept cool in transit?

Simple, we use Sorba-Freeze Refrigerant Pads. Sorba-Freeze Refrigerant Pads are made from a non-woven polyester fabric and silver laminate. Inside each ''cell'' is an acrylate polymer powder which is capable of absorbing liquid up to 150 times its own weight. Sorba-freeze continues to control temperature even above 2°C and is totally safe to handle. Our professional packers always take transit times and weather conditions into account in order to allocate Sorba-Freeze accordingly.

9. What if I am not at home for the delivery?

We’re flexible. When you order, simply add any ''Special Instructions''. Whether you want us to leave your fresh meat order with Aunty Flo at Number Thirty, or safely stowed in the garden shed, we’re happy to oblige!

Our couriers are advised to leave orders in a safe place if no one is available to accept the meat order. (And no signature is required). This prevents meat orders being returned to courier hubs/depots – and is more convenient for you.

Please note: We do not accept responsibility for consignments which have been left on your instruction if you are not in.

10. What do you do if I have any problems?

Just call us on 01386 761 221; we’ll be happy to help with any problems that you may have. But we’re not just here to resolve problems…

11. What is your minimum order?

Our minimum order is £30 plus the delivery. This is simply due to the expensive nature of the temperature regulated container that we use to package your online meat order (which carries no additional charge).

12. Do you do free delivery?

Yes, any order over £80 enjoys free delivery. Also, from time to time we run promotional offers on postal charges, plus all sorts of special offers. Keep an eye on the Clare Barry website for details…

13. Will my meat be fresh or frozen?

Our meat is primarily delivered fresh to freeze, unless the product is marked  within the product description. There will be an increase in the amount of frozen meats online over the next few months. That’s because as the Clare Barry site expands we’re delivering even more meats online to even more customers throughout the UK. Our promise to make your online meat delivery by the next working day is very important to us – and our blast freezing process enables us to keep on delivering perfect quality frozen fresh meat and poultry to ever more customers.

14. How do I make my payment?

You can make your payment with your debit card, credit card or even PayPal – either on our safe, secure website or by contacting the Clare Barry online meat delivery Sales Team who will be happy to help you complete your order.

15. Just how safe is “safe”?

Because your details are entered onto our secure site, only the relevant bank will have access to your card details. Once payment is taken Clare Barry has no access to payment details. Hence card details have to be retaken on each order you submit.

16. I can't find the cut I'm looking for. Can you help?

Yes, of course. If there are any cuts you are looking for which are not available on the website, please call the Clare Barry Sales Team on 01386 761 221 or email inquiries@clarebarry.co.uk . We’ll do our utmost to help.
